The Bandstand |
|
The JIB bandstand was opened by HRH Princes Royal in spring 2006.
Located next to the Abbey within its own parkland the bandstand is a focal point for the community.
The bandstand is available for use to musical groups and performance artists. Contact the JIB through the 'contact' page of this website for further details.

Jedforest Pioneers |
|
The early days The JIB were one of first to adopt brass instruments with valves. Prior to Adolphe Sax perfecting the Valved brass instrument in 1842 earlier attempts were pretty much useless. These new inventions reached Jedburgh little more than a decade later in 1854 prior to which the people of Jedburgh had to make do with flutes, drums and bagpipes!
